42” X 22” x 18”
Cherry, Curly Maple and Black Walnut
This piece is part of my revolt against the computer. An encyclopedia stand will be following.

Quilted Maple, Wenge and Aluminum
57” x 18” x 14”
Black Walnut and Maple
I had seen a ceiling made of what appeared to be woven wood in a magazine. I thought it might work on a cabinet door.

A cabinet made of quartered Sycamore, who's texture runs around the cabinet and through the shelf.

40"w X 49"h X 17"d
Swiss Pear, Spalted Maple, Wenge and Curly Maple
Because there is not any use of veneer, the cabinet required frame and panel construction to allow for wood movement.

This is a detail of the top.

Lacewood, Black Walnut and Maple
I was sitting at a traffic light and I looked up at a tree with a birds nest in it. I became very interested in the thought of suspending a cabinet much in the same way. This cabinet is the first attempt; therefore, it is inevitably very literal in its concept. The Walnut acts as the "trunk", and Lacewood acts as the medium for the "nest". I find Lacewood to have an organic texture.
This piece was commissioned as a liquor cabinet. The mail slots and drawers were added for those "unwanted" bills. I thought that the Alcohol and bills might go along together. The bottom drawers can be accessed from the front or back of the cabinet, and the door and drawer pulls are hand carved.
50"w X 38.5"h X 18"d
Bubinga, Curly Maple, Cocobolo and Maple
Most of my work has multiple shapes, feels and textures. I felt compelled to construct a smooth table that was full of right angles. The drawer-pull was hand-made.
46"w X 40"h X 16"d
Honduras Mahogany, Black Walnut and Maple
Textures have become important to me. I use them because I like the thought of people touching and interacting with furniture. This table is hand carved.
I often turn a bowl, plate or a box for each piece with left over wood from each project.
68"h X 18"d
European Steamed Beech, Black Walnut, Maple, Copper and Sisal Rope
This is the second variation of the "nest" theme. The suspension of the cabinet is there, but the addition of the rope and knots change the piece to a more aquatic feel. Notice the texture on the legs and handles.
The box (turned cylinder w/top ), is made with the same walnut lumber. The coopered door and drawer pulls are hand-made and hand-carved.
49.5"w X 38.5"h X 20"d
African Mahogany, Black Walnut, Ziricote and Maple
This is a further exploration of varied textures on a table.
60"w X 35"h X 30"d
Honduras Mahogany and Black Walnut
My client asked for a "light and airy feeling desk". The elliptical shape is mimicked throughout, giving a sense of levity to the piece. The turned box is made out of the same Mahogany.
14.5"w X 65.5"h X 16"d
Poplar, Bleached Wenge and Maple
This was an experimental piece. I used techniques that I usually do not use in the construction and finish of my cabinets. From the inset of the legs, the pin which holds the door closed, to the bleaching of the wood, this piece has a different feel to than rest of my work.
33"w X 12"h X 21"d
Honduras Mahogany, Black Walnut and Maple
My client was looking for a simple chest for storing a few special items. The top portion is for clothing, and the bottom drawer is for tools.
There is a walnut inlay around the inside of the drawer opening.
60"w X 30"h X 30"d
Black Walnut, Stainless Steel, Maple and Honduras Mahogany
This is a desk of contrasts. Cool-warm, smooth-textured and industrial with wood furniture. I was interested in seeing the way people interact with the desk, especially with the rivets. Also, the stainless steel make for a great writing surface.
60"w X 18"h X 23"d
Curly Maple, Purple Heart and Honduras Mahogany
This is a bench that can be used as a table when needed.
